There are many individuals that make the choice. Some make the choice because they were raped. Some make the choice for selfish reasons. Others make the choice based on their economics, can they afford that child?
Yes, there is Child Support Enforcement to make a father pay. The law states a man is only required to give a child 20% of his income. If the man married the woman, he gives 100%. A person can't really raise a child on 120% income in this nation with wages being unequal to men.
I find pro-life supporters to be condescending. They tout adoption but how many have gone out to try to adopt? How many would adopt a baby not of their race? Or how many have adopted a child that is not an infant?
Pro-life would criminalize a medical procedure and doctors. They would put women in jail, for what took two people to do. Like with prostitution, the female would take the punishment and rarely would the man.
I have to lean toward Barack Obama's plan to help make less abortions. He is right that in all the time the Pro-life movement has been belly aching, the abortions in this nation have not gone down.
Wouldn't it be nice to see that number drop?
If you are pro-life wouldn't that be your goal in the first place, to see abortions decline? To actually save lives not make criminals and strain government more in our over loaded prisons?
